about

I'm Chaz — a curious builder, husband, and dad of three. Unfocused Curiosity is where I make things that don't need to exist but feel better once they do: automation tools, data dashboards, little systems that make everyday family life run a bit smoother. Most of it starts with a question I can't stop thinking about.

Aircraft Tracker

I love planes. My kids love planes. We live under flight paths for four local airports and constantly find ourselves checking the ADS-B app — what type is that, where did it come from? This dashboard lets us dive deep, spot trends, and search for specific aircraft in the airspace around us.

Family Meal Planning Automation

Meal planning for a family of five with strong opinions is basically an ongoing negotiation. This automation pulls from our Paprika recipe library or generates new ones via Claude, factors in schedules and cooking preferences, and produces a week of meals everyone will actually eat (allegedly). It then adds ingredients to our Kroger cart and syncs everything to our calendar.

Family Coordination

Coordinating five people means five separate calendars and the inevitable moment where two things land on the same afternoon. This tool pulls everyone's Google Calendar together, uses Claude to spot conflicts and gaps, and surfaces a clear picture of the week ahead — so nothing gets missed and nobody double-books the car.
